On to State!

The North Tama track teams are sending 4 events to state which will be held in Des Moines on May 20-22. For the girls, sophmore, Kailey Kladivo qualified for state at the May 14 regional meet. Kladivo jumped 5′ 2″ giving her a fifth place finish. Kladivo also went to state in 2009, her freshman year finishing 16th in the high jump. Kladivo’s career high is 5’3″.

In the boys, David Robinson, a junior finished second in the 3200 meter run at districts with a time of 10:41.61. Last year Robinson also went to state in the 3200 meter run finishing 19th. Senior, Dylan Youel, will be running the 110 high hurdles as he did last year at state. His first place time at the district meet was 15.70. In 2009 Youel finished 10th. The same atheletes will make up the team that finished 2nd at state in the 4×400 meter shuttle hurdles, Junior, Brendon Boerm, senior Jeremy Wrage, senior, James Weida and senior Dylan Youel.

The shuttle hurdle team will be competing Thursday, May 20 in the preliminary race. If they qualify in that race they will compete in the finals on Saturday, May 22. Robinson will be running his 3200 meter race also on Thursday. Youel will be competing in his 110 high hurdles on Friday, May 21 with finals on Saturday.
