On June 15, the Amercian Legion Auxiliary Post #142 opened their meeting at 7 p.m. with Karen Podhajsky presiding. It was held at the Traer Library. There was 18 members present. They gave the pledge to the flag and recited the Preamble to the Constitution. Jean Beenken offered a prayer.

The minutes were read and approved. Kathy Manfull gave the treasurers report.

Audrey Lenaburg presented a bill for postage etc for $51.53 from July 1, 2009 to June 31, 2010. Jean Beenken made a motion for it to be paid and Kathy Stammer seconded it. Motion carried.

Arlene Schmidt reported on the Poppy Days. Everything went quite well and people were generous. Thanks to all that could help and thank you to Arlene for all your hard work.

Arlene also reported on the ice cream social in Garwin. They served over 110 people and sold some ice cream in containers. Eleanor Chalupsky won the flag.

New officers were elected. President – Karen Podhajsky, 1st Vice President – Irene Hanus, 2nd Vice President – Viola Barge, Secretary Verona Staker, Treasurer – Kathy Manfull, Correspondent Sec. Audrey Lenaburg, Chaplain – Jean Beenken, Historian – Arlene Schmidt, Sargeant At Arms – Audrey Babinat.

Executive Board – Diane Owens, Arlene Schmidt and Verena Vorba.

Memorial Services were said for Beth Hatzel and Opal Kuhse, Opal was a WWII veteran.

Next meeting will be July 20 at the Memorial Building at 7:30 p.m.

The Bea Stammer Fund (golf) proceeds of years past was $4335.00. Sarah Stock and her sons distributed it with $3335.00 to CHAT, $500.00 to BASIC and $500.00 to the Auxiliary, which will be put in the Memorial Savings account.

Audrey Lenaburg said we now have 190 membership. Jean Beenken said a prayer. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. A nice lunch was served by Sue & Shelli Morrison.
