Boys suffer close loss to Don Bosco

On January 18 the North Tama boys also played Don Bosco at home in a conference game. The boys played a tough game but unfortunately lost to Don Bosco 57-64. Leading the team in points scored was Brendon Boerm with 18. Boerm made 8 of his 20 field goals, both of his free throws and had 3 assists. Following behind Boerm in points was Lucas Hefty with 14. Hefty made 6 of his 13 attempted shots, 2 of his 4 free throws, had 3 assists and 4 steals. Mitchell Boerm scored 11 points. Boerm made 4 of his 10 field goal attempts, 3 of his 5 free throws and had one assist. Cade Isenhower made 3 of his 7 shots earning 6 points. Isenhower had 4 assists and 2 steals. Tyler Cizek also scored 6 points. Cizek made 3 of his 7 attempted shots and had 4 assists. Jacob Wrage scored 2 points. Wrage made one of his 3 field goals and had one assist.

Head coach Brandon Clubb commented, “Don Bosco was a big time game with a big time atmosphere. We didn’t play 4 quarters of basketball. We let them get back into the game the second half and didn’t make stops when we needed to. We were still in the game with a minute and half left and couldn’t make our free throws. Then we were in a situation where we were forced to foul and Don Bosco did hit their free throws. “
