The regular monthly meeting of the Traer Chamber of Commerce was held on August 8th at Sunnyside Tavern and Cafe. The meeting was called to order at 5:35 by Vice President Ashley Cizek. Others in attendance were Secretary Patty Suess, Treasurer Cindy Blaine, Past President Pat Rishel, Board members Wendy Barnes, Carol Stansbery, Jared Hasselman, and Gwen Seda.

Andy Weichers, a social media expert, outlined what he would be doing for the Chamber to promote individual businesses and the Chamber activities. He will feature 2 Chamber businesses each week for their specials and events. If your business has something special that you would like others to know about, let the board know and we will make sure Andy gets it out on the social media pages.

A motion by Wendy and 2nd by Carol that the minutes be approved for July, motion carried.

There were no bills presented so a motion by Pat and 2nd by Wendy that the treasurer’s report be approved, motion carried.

Option tax requests were filled out by Wendy and the Chamber was granted local monies for our projects.

The Traer Trolley will be pulled in the Festival parade by Dave Barnes for the Chamber. Ashley will be getting the candy.

The annual Traer Chamber Car Cruise scheduled for September 10th is fast approaching. Gwen will call the radio station 105.7 for some advertising spots. Trophy sponsors are desperately needed. They are $ 50.00 and need to be spoken for ASAP . Please take your check to Cindy Blaine at FSB & T . We will be having the pink cadillac again for music on the street. Judges were chosen and will remain anonymous at this time. Jared will call Cooley Sanitation for Porta potties.

There will be another cruise meeting at A Wild Hair on August 29th at 5:30 pm.
