News & notes from the Traer Public Library….

We will continue with curb side delivery this week, along with home delivery and my porch delivery.

CURB SIDE DELIVERY: Call the library to ask for materials to be selected for you, or go on to our catalog and select the items yourself. After arranging a time for pick up with you, we will take the books and other items to the front door. Once we see you in your car, we will place the items outside on the sidewalk and shut the library door, you then may pick up your bag. We offer this service Monday-Friday from 1:00-5:00pm. You may request books, magazines, DVDs, audios and puzzles.

HOME DELIVERY: We are very willing to bring items to your door if you are truly not leaving your house for any reason. Anything we bring you will not have been checked out or returned by anyone else for a minimum of 3 days. Staff will use be wearing gloves when we select the items for you.

PORCH DELIVERY: If you are not able to get to the library for a pick up within in the stated 1-5 times, I am quite happy to take the items home with me and you can pick them up off my porch. Just call ahead to make the arrangements

DELAYED CHECK INS: Please continue returning your materials when you are done with them. Anything returned is set aside and not even brought up into the library for 3 days. After 3 days we check in the items and re-shelve them. The life of the virus on pages is 1 day, on plastic it is 3 days, so we feel we are protecting ourselves and you with the policy. If the delayed check-in results in fines – the fines will be removed from you account.

HOW TO MAKE A RESERVE: To reserve specific books and movies: Go to the library webpage www.traer.lib.ia.us, select online catalog, sign in using your library card number & phone number (call or email if you don’t know the numbers we have on file for you.). Once you are signed into your account, you can browse the catalog and reserving items you would like. We check about once an hour to see if reserves have been made and then collect the items, and call you

BRIDGES LIMIT INCREASED: The State Library has increased their purchases of BRIDGES materials and some ebooks and audios have been converted to simultaneous use license until April 30 – which means you don’t have to wait for those items, they are always available. BRIDGES has also increased the check out limit from 3 to 5 through April 30.
