Races set for June 2 Primary

A race has developed for the Republican nomination for 2nd District Tama County Supervisor in the June 2 Iowa Primary. William Faircloth and Roger Wacha Jr., both of rural Toledo, are both vying for the nomination.

Jeff Schrock, has filed for the Democrat nomination for Tama County Sheriff (See story below.) Incumbent Sheriff Dennis Kucera is seeking reelection on the Republican ticket.

Democrat Party incumbents seeking the nominations are 2nd District Supervisor Kendall Jordan, Toledo, 3rd District Supervisor Dan Anderson, rural Tama and Auditor Laura Kopsa, Tama.

State Legislature

As previously reported, State Senator Jeff Edler (R-State Center) Iowa Senate District 36 and State Rep. Dean Fisher (R-Montour) House District 72 are the only candidates for the Republican nominations in the June 2 Primary.

David Degner, Traer, is a candidate for the Democrat nomination for Senate District 36 and John W. Anderson and Christina Blackcloud, both of Tama, are seeking the nomination for House District 72 in the Democratic Primary.

U. S. Senate, House

For U.S. Senate, incumbent Senator Joni Ernst has filed for the republican nomination in the june 2 Primary and Democrats Michael Franken, Sioux city, Kimberly graham, Indianola, Theresa Greenfield, Eddie J. Mauro and Cal Woods, all of Des Monies, are seeking the Democrat nomination.

1st District U. S. Representative Abby Finkenauer is seeking a second term as the lone candidate for the nomination on the Democrat June 2 Primary ballot. Ashely Hinson, Marion, and Thomas Hansen, Decorah, are seeking the Republican nomination in the June 2 primary for the District 1 House seat.
