Laura R. Elderts, 91

Laura R. Eilderts, 91, of Iowa Veterans Home, formerly of Hartwick, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Iowa Veterans Home with her family by her side.

Memorial services for Laura will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Salem Church of Lincoln. There will be no visitation. She will be laid to rest in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Following committal services, all are invited to the church for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Memorial contributions may be directed in Laura’s name to her family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Laura and her family.

Laura R. Eilderts was born on June 17, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Viola (Macaninch) Smith. She was raised and educated in the town of Victor, Iowa. Laura was united in marriage to Arnold Eilderts on December 3, 1960. Arnold passed away in 2009. She spent her working years as a waitress for many places. Laura was a member of the Red Hat Society. She had a true passion for flowers, birds, fishing, knitting, crocheting and any type of craft work.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Rose (Dan) Garvey, Dennis Bradley and Roger Eilderts. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother.
