Virginia M. Hark, 84

Virginia Mae Hark was born on April 4, 1929, in Oneida Township, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Edna (Uridil) Wieck. She grew up in Traer and graduated from Traer High with the class of 1944. On August 12, 1948, Virginia was united in marriage to Herbert Hark at the Methodist Church in Traer. Herbert and Virginia farmed in Dysart for many years. She was a member of the Dysart United Methodist Church, the “Take Time Club” in Dysart, and the “Good Cheer Club” with the farming community in Dysart. Virginia enjoyed traveling, flowers, rock hunting with Herbert, and wintering in Fort Meyers, Florida. Virginia died at the age of 84 on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. She is survived by her husband, Herbert; a son, Jim Hark of Waterloo; a daughter, Susan (Mike) English of Apache Junction, Arizona; a sister in law, Thelma Brandt of Dysart; and six granddaughters, Laura, Melissa, Andrea, Michelle, Sherry, and Nicola. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents.
