Ernest E. "Ed" Whitmore Jr., 73

Ernest Edward “Ed” Whitmore Jr. was born on April 13, 1940, in Waterloo, the son of Ernest Sr. and Helen (Speer) Whitmore. Ed graduated from Geneseo High School. On February 18, 1984, he was united in marriage to Linda Forsythe. Ed farmed in partnership with the Gunn family all of his life. He also worked security for special occasions and took care of the Geneseo Cemetery. Ed enjoyed going to auctions, collecting guns and tractors, and polka music. He had a very strong relationship with his family. Ed died at the age of 73 on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Ed is survived by his wife; three sons and their families, Nick, Kris, Trent and Brynn Whitmore, Brian, Katie, Scott and Tyler Morrison, and Mike, Shellie, Chase, Larissa and Jessica Morrison all of Traer; two brothers, Lee (Linda) Whitmore of Dunkerton and Rod (Laurie) Whitmore of Eyota, Minnesota; and many nephews and cousins.
