Marion L. Munger, 92

Marion L. Munger, 92, of Lakeland (FL) and formerly of Dysart, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Florida Presbyterian Assisted Living Home. Service will be held at Overton Funeral Home in Dysart on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. with burial at Buckingham Cemetery in Traer. In lieu of flowers, please direct your memorial to the Humane Society.

Marion Louise Pemberton-Sawyer Munger passed peacefully at Florida Presbyterian Homes in Lakeland, Florida on April 20, 2014, at the age of 92. She had a long life filled with love and happiness that began on November 6, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of Seward and Mabel (Minshall) Pemberton. At age three, Marion’s family moved to the Pemberton family farm near Lake Delevon, Wisconsin. Marion learned to ride ponies, pigs and cows. She also enjoyed playing in the woods, picking flowers, and roasting potatoes. In 1938, she moved to Traer where she was involved with school programs at the Opera House. Marion attended nursing school at Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown. In 1972, Marion moved to Florida with her sister and family. She continued her interest in many forms of art and had an art gallery exhibit in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 1991, she married Bert Munger and moved to Lakeland, Florida. Marion was very creative and had a great sense of style. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Kurt; and two sisters. Marion is survived by two daughters, Joan (Steve Foster) Witter of Boca Raton, Florida and Sandra Kay (Dale) Wilson of Dysart; five grandchildren, Beth Witter, Sandy (Tim) Severensen, Amber Caruso, Jason (Jeanne) Caruso and Carmen Caruso; and seven great grandchildren.
