Fourth Annual Spring Chocolate Walk

The Dysart Development Corporation hosted the 4th Annual Spring Chocolate Walk. The weather played its part in making this a great spring event. The sun was popping out through the clouds and the temperatures reached in the middle of the 70s for the first time this year.

All of your favorite main street shops and businesses helped make this event possible for another year. There were 16 different chocolate vendors located in each business. You could find The Polar Blairs Den featuring lollipops inside the Blacksmith Boutique or some Handmade Caramels from Sweetopia which was located inside the Iowa Country Store.

There was several other desserts and goodies to try including cheesecake by Fancy Fudge or a wonderful different assortment of truffles by places like Divine Decadents and Sweet Shop! Traeger Grills, which was set up out outside of the telephone company, even offered a special kind of chocolate chip cookie which was made on the grill!

Saturday was also a special day for Dysart’s newest business, KE Black Mercantile. This was the first year KE Black was involved in the Chocolate Walk as it just opened its doors on April 1st. The store actually celebrated its grand opening on Saturday during the Chocolate Walk with everyone around!

There was a great turnout all over town for the event. People were enjoying the beautiful weather and the delicious chocolates. Downtown was bustling and all of the stores saw many people pass through. There was even a special sighting of the Easter Bunny on Main Street. The stores were opened from 9-3 and the Chocolate Walk was from 10-2. There was also an awesome vendor fair that was held in the back room at Chelle’s Bar and Grill. Chelle’s was offering specials on yummy chocolate mixed drinks as well.

Events like the Chocolate Walk bring a lot of new and returning faces to Dysart who do not live here. Many people from all over Iowa, and even farther than that plan family and annual trips to events like this through out the entire year. What a great way to spread the word about our wonderful town and businesses. Thank you to the Dysart Development Corporation and everyone who worked hard to make this event happen for another year, we already can’t wait for 2015!
