Watson misses state by .07 second

The North Tama Cross Country team traveled to Knoxville for the state qualifying meet.

This was the first meet that the North Tama girls were able to have a team score due to all the injuries that the team suffered.

As a team the girls finished 10th in a field of 12 teams.

Abi Watson was the big finisher for the Redhawks, finishing 11th for the day. The top ten runners advance to state. Watson missed the state meet by .07 seconds. Watson had a time of 16:53.8 and the 10th spot runner had a time of 16:53.1.

BrandiAnne Daub was the next Redhawk across the line with a time of 19:25.5 for a 51st place finish. Kailey Kladivo had a 58th place finish with a time of 20:16.3. Rachel Kopriva had a 75th place finish with a time of 25:25.0 and Nicole Schlichting had a 77th place finish with a time of 29:24.0

The boys did not have a team representing the Redhawks at the meet as only two runners competed.

JT Townsend had a 82nd place finish with a time of 21:32.7 and Robert Young had a 102nd place finish with a time of 23:34.4
