Watson finishes in top five in consecutive meets

The North Tama cross country team has been nothing if not consistent this year. Abi Watson, who has been the team’s strongest runner this year, finished last week’s South Tama meet with her second fourth place finish of the young season, clocking in at 17:03.

Jamie Huntley finished in 26th place with a time of 20:08. BrandiAnne Daub, the team’s only senior, finished the race in 20:47, earning her 35th place.

The other three Redhawk competitors – Jordyn TeBeest, Alexis Taylor and Rachel Kopriva – finished in a bunch, coming in 45th, 47th and 48th, respectively. TeBeest had a time of 23:02, Taylor ran a 23:48 and Kopriva finished with a 24:31.

The ladies were back in action just two days later at Lynnville-Sully, and once again, Watson finished fourth overall. Her time of 16:59 marked an improvement over the course of the week.

Daub ran a 20:16, ending up in 39th place. Kopriva, TeBeest and Taylor finished in a bunch at 57th, 59th and 60th, respectively, right around the 22-minute mark. Huntley did not run in the Lynnville-Sully meet.
