“Name the Community” Theatre Contest

As you know, the musical Godspell was presented in April over the Palm Sunday weekend here is Dysart. This was the community’s first attempt at a community musical and was very successful. After the production, a meeting was advertised that was billed as “Beyond Godspell”. This meeting brought together a group of like-minded individuals who are now forming a community theatre group. The group has met several times over the last month and has elected officers: Nancy Havran is President, Deb Oliver is Vice-President and Marcia Taylor is Secretary/Treasurer. Although the vision, mission and bylaws for the group are being developed, the group has been struggling with coming up with a name for the group. Last week the group decided to tap into the creativity of the community and ask residents to join this naming effort by holding a Name the Community Theatre Contest. The prize for the contest will be “special” seating for their family at the theatre’s future productions.
