Countdown to the Fourth

We’re in the final countdown for the 4th of July celebration with the final Club Dysart meeting being held yesterday. Some of the items discussed were decorating the raffle prize float for the parade. Here is a list of the items you may win: 42″ LG Plasma TV, Glider, Digital Camera, Handcrafted Metal Flower, Watering Can with Gardening Accessories, Grill Set, 4th of July Picnic Accessories, Rain Gauge with Thermometer, Birdfeeder, Handheld Cordless Vacuum, 2 Bag Lawn Chairs, $20 Gift Certificate to Joensy’s, Table Runner, 3 Loads of Black Dirt*, 1 Load of Road Rock, 3 Month Subscription to Cedar Valley Times. On Thursday night, Club Dysart will meet in the park at 5:00 p.m. to set up for the events taking place there over the 4th. If you haven’t had a chance and wish to sign up for ticket sales, or brats serving, etc. check with Mandy at SSB for times still available. Stacey Dabney requested help in preparation for the pork chop dinner starting at 8:30 on the 4th. Anyone interested in opening cans, making lemonade, etc. and general prep are invited. An additional food vender has been added. Kim Ortiz will be providing Mexican food available after the Club Dysart pork chop dinner on the 4th. The Lions Club handles the parade preparations and they have advised us that there is still room for more entrants. If you wish to participate in the parade, be at the Union Middle School starting at about 9:30 a.m. and the Lions will get things going from there. The loads of black dirt will be delivered for $25 within 10 miles. Add $2.50 per mile over 10 miles.
