Boerm right at home with Pipho and Gingrich Family Dentistry

Dr. Brendan Boerm

Since July of 2019, Dr. Brendon Boerm has practiced dentistry in an area he grew up in and is enjoying the opportunity to work alongside Drs. Bob Pipho and Sarah Gingrich in Dysart as the practice moves into a new building.

Boerm grew up in Traer and is the son of Dr. Kurt Boerm, a veterinarian, and Judy Boerm, a former teacher and currently the Student Success Coach at North Tama. Through his parents, Boerm developed an interest in health and science at a young age. He graduated from North Tama in 2011, attending Central College and later shadowing under Pipho before choosing to attend Dental school at the University of Iowa.

“A lot of people don’t like to go to the dentist, but I love the opportunity to talk to people and knew I was capable of doing that,” Boerm said. “I enjoy not only the science, but the artistry side of dentistry. The way Dr. Pipho ran his office really interested me.”

After completing his studies in June of 2019, Boerm joined Pipho once again to work alongside his mentor and Dr. Gingrich in both Dysart and La Porte City.

“They are terrific dentists and have the best interest of their patients,” Boerm said. “I’ve learned a lot working around them. They have made this experience enjoyable.”

“We’re excited to have Brendan back in the area to serve patients he grew up with in Traer,” Gingrich said. “He’s involved in all aspects of dentistry. Our patients enjoy him and we hope to have him with us for years to come.”

Since joining the staff, Boerm has met with patients he knew from Traer. He noted the unique experience of seeing his parents’ impact in the community for himself and feels things have come “full circle” in recent months.

“My dad and I have similar voices, so sometimes patients my patients don’t know if my dad took on a new venture,” Boerm said. “It’s funny when they tell me they weren’t sure if it was me or my dad about to walk in the door when they hear me coming.”

Pipho and Gingrich Family Dentistry recently moved into a new facility in Dysart across the street from their previous location. Boerm has been excited for the change as the new building provides “all of the amenities of a practitioner in Des Moines.”

“This a unique and awesome opportunity to provide the best care in Dysart,” Boerm said. “It’s a great thing for the area and Tama County.”

Boerm plans to continue with Gingrich and Pipho for the foreseeable future and is grateful to be back in the area he grew up and helping patients he’s known since childhood. The Traer native invites anyone looking for a dentist to take advantage of the new facility in Dysart and schedule an appointment.
