Roy Draper of Traer is the first Democrat to file for the nomination for the Tama County office in the June primary.

The Traer town council agreed Monday night to initiate preliminary work on one of the town’s greatest needs – review of the towns ordinances. Not since 1926 have Traer’s ordinances been reviewed for possible revision.

Superintendent Donald Lenth has announced that the girls’ sectional basketball tournament at Traer ranked 14th among the 64 sectionals in attendance receipts. The Traer tournament grossed $ 1,310.45 of which 20 percent will be returned to the Traer Community school District.

One hundred forty person attended the silver anniversary open house for Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stoakes.

Carl Wilson, official weather observer at Traer for the U.S. Weather Bureau has figured that this community has had a total of 47 1/2 inches of snow since last November.

The making of Kolaches, the favorite Czech yeast roll which many good cooks of the Clutier Community have helped to popularize is to be demonstrated for television audience during a program over the Ames station, WOI-TV.

March 6, 1930

W.H. Smith has been appointed as Marshal and Night Watch for the town of Dysart.

A male wolf caught Friday in a trap by John C. Nutt of Buckingham is the first such capture in Tama County in two years.

March 7, 1940

Miss Doris Whitmore and Kirk Mahood were united in marriage Saturday in a double ring ceremony.

Notice was received last Wednesday that the highway commission plans to condemn land along the new route required for right-of-way. The road between Traer and Dysart is to be straightened out.

March 2, 1950

Mr. and Mrs. Hans Wieck announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Ramona, to Delos Seebach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Seebach.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Lee Scott of Waterloo are the parents of a son born last Thursday at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

March 15, 1990

Announcement is being made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Jennifer Clouse of Dysart and Daryl Kokesh of Clutier. A June 23, wedding is planned.

Announcement is being made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Karla Sash and Randall Blackford. The couple plans a May 26, wedding.

March 16, 2000

Senior Meg Tierney and sophomore Tiffany Reedy were selected as members of the Class 3A squad on the All-Tournament Team.

Ann Althof of Dysart has been chosen to attend the 55th session of the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State at UNI in Cedar Falls.
