Martin to celebrate 100th birthday

Gladys Elizabeth Martin will celebrate her 100th birthday with a celebration at Sunrise Hill Care Center, 909 Taylor Street in Traer on Saturday, June 25 from 2-4 pm.
Gladys was born July 13, 1911 to Margaret and Harvey Moberly in Orange Township. She had one brother, Dexter who passed away several years ago.
She married Leonard Martin on December 25, 1929 at the home of her parents in Orange Township. They farmed around Traer and Gladys worked at a few retail stores in town. She also sold Avon and spent many hours doing crochet, hardanger and quilting.
They have one son, Jack (Lois) of Texas, two grandsons, Rory (Cindy) of Phoenix, Ariz. and Time (Zonda) of Dallas, Texas and one great grandchild, Sara of Phoenix. They have a special niece, Naomi (Dick) Zeleny of Pueblo, Colo. and their children; Randy, Kathy and Lynn.
Leonard and Gladys celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in 2004, Leonard passed away the following spring.
Hosting the event will be Cyndy, Jackie and Gayle, her good friends and neighbors in Traer. Your presence is the only gift Gladys would want.
