The annual Swing Show returned to North Tama High School on March 10 and 11. North Tama’s concert band directed by Channing Halstead, the mixed chorus directed by Terry Shay, and the dance team coached by Dylan Rohlfsen performed an array of pieces with a theme titled “Don’t Stop Me Now: The Music of Queen.”

“It’s always fun to see the reward of all [the students’] hard work,” Halstead said of the annual show. Following the opening Queen number “Fat Bottomed Girls” performed by the band – whose members were spaced throughout the gym – seniors Hannah Borah and Camden Clausen put on a comedy skit welcoming the audience to the performance. Various small group musical acts, dance routines, and comedy sketches peppered the show between band and choral pieces.
