Commencement ceremonies were held for both North Tama’s and Union’s graduating seniors last Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Traer and La Porte City, respectively. In each community, the presentation of the diplomas featured some particularly poignant moments as both districts had Board of Education members this year with children graduating including Union’s Corey Lorenzen whose son Ty Lorenzen graduated, and North Tama’s David Boldt and Rod Zobel whose sons Clayton Boldt and Levi Zobel, respectively, graduated. North Tama’s Class President Olivia Ketter gave her ceremony’s welcoming address from the high school gym stage, while Union’s Commencement was also held in the high school gymnasium. Congratulations to all the graduates!
