PITTSBURG – The Union High School Academic Decathlon team competed at the Technology & Humanity National Academic Decathlon on April 25-27, 2024 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The team qualified for this event by placing first this year in the small schools in the state of Iowa. We had several students who earned top-10 individual finishes at the event including:

-Daniel Gray: 2nd Place in Interview and 7th Place in Literature

-Andrew Kline: 4th Place in Speech and 6th Place in Interview

-Adam Brehm: 6th Place in Economics, 8th Place in Art & Music, and 10th Place in Social Science

-Hayden Hemsath: 9th Place in Music

-Ian Grimm: 10th Place in Essay

-Stratton Wood: 8th Place in Economics and 9th Place in Literature

-Dominic Huisman: 10th Place in Speech

-Matthew Medina: 7th in Essay
