LA PORTE CITY – On Wednesday, May 1, Union High School hosted the annual Senior Scholarship and Recognition Night and, once again, it was an amazing night that celebrated the 2024 senior class. Local scholarships generated over $92,000 worth of monetary college support which does not include scholarships from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa that have yet to be determined or college-specific scholarships. Countless times throughout the evening, presenters commented on the strength of this year’s applicant pool – there were many tough choices for the various committees. Commencement for the 2024 graduates was held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Union High School.
