Redhawks honored at 2025 fall sports kickoff

Junior/Senior awards

The award for Outstanding Junior or Senior Female Athlete went to rising senior Addison Hochstetler. Fellow rising seniors Kruiz Ewoldt and Gabby Seda along with 2025 graduates Briar Blake, Faith Dvorak, and Ava Monat were also nominated. As part of the award, Hochstetler received the Our North Tama Girls Scholarship worth $1,000.

The Bruce Erickson Award for the most outstanding junior or senior male athlete was presented to 2025 graduate Kolt Knaack. Rising seniors Kayler Morris and Clayton Williams, along with 2025 graduates Josh Dostal, Chaz Hall, Tyrus Luker, Gavin Rausch were also nominated. As part of the award, Knaack received the Richard Hulme Memorial Scholarship worth $1,500.

To be nominated for either award, junior or senior athletes must have lettered in at least three sports during the past year and not had any violations of the good conduct policy during the past two years. These athletes are nominated by the contracted coaching staff of North Tama and the winner is determined by a points system using the current year accomplishments and student involvement in all extracurricular activities as criteria.

Freshman/Sophomore awards

The Kent Vesely Award for outstanding freshman or sophomore male athlete was presented to rising sophomore Maddox Rausch, who beat out fellow rising sophomores Roman Bradley and Kadeyn Velasco along with rising juniors Brayton Cibula, Jordan Dostal, Kayvin Morris, and Braydon Stickles for the honor.

The Tonja Rickert Award for outstanding freshman or sophomore female athlete went to rising sophomore Shawna Cibula. Fellow rising sophomores Isla Breakenridge, Brynley Seda, and Lily Sell along with rising juniors Kahlia Even, Harper Rausch, Brynley Seda, and Violet Seda were also nominated.

To be nominated for either the Kent Vesley or Tonja Rickert awards, student-ahtletes must have participated in three or more sports throughout the year while demonstrating sportsmanship and contributing to the success of their athletic programs. Nominees must also show characteristics of friendship among peers and exemplify the role of leadership, citizenship and respect towards teachers, coaches and the community. Nominees must not have violated the North Tama Good Conduct Policy in the past two years. Awards are nominated and voted on by the North Tama contracted coaching staff.
