TRAER – The Geneseo Consolidated School Class of 1956 celebrated their 70th graduation anniversary on Saturday, May 16, in the Family Dining Room at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

Five class members and four spouses attended. Two class members and one spouse were unable to attend. The class has sadly lost four class members and two spouses over the years.

Six of the eleven members graduating in 1956 started school together nine years before and remained with the class to graduate, including Carol Stoakes (Fuller-Bruene), Colleen Casey (Goode), Warren Schrader, Craig Mitchell, Dennis Mitchell, and Ralph McElhinney. Eleanor Bauer (Roquet), Dean Taylor, Merlin Taylor, Judy Wood (Holst) and Charles Fuller joined them along the way.

As part of the celebration on Saturday, a meal was catered and many memories shared.
