During the last two weeks of June, St. Paul Parish of Traer celebrated the conclusion of the Pauline Year, The Year of St. Paul, with much activity and spirit. With an action float entry in parades at LaPorte City and Gladbrook that recreated the conversion of St. Paul with a youth acting as Saul, sound effects of thunder and wind, bright light and “God” speaking to Saul. On Sunday June 28th, Mass followed by a delicious meal and activities for the youth, taking pictures of riding St. Paul’s horse and the highlight of the day with a pilgrimage to six outdoor stations to listen to St. Paul, (played by a professional actor Kevin O’Brien from the Theater of the Word Inc. of St. Louis Mo.) talk about his life, conversion, meeting with the apostles, his teachings and ultimately his death.
