Bolt leads Rebels past North Tama in overtime

REINBECK – Three players scored in double figures and Gladbrook-Reinbeck controlled overtime from the outset, stunning Class 1A No. 8 North Tama 57-48 on Saturday night.

The Rebels stuck with their 2-3 zone and North Tama could not answer from the outside, surrendering what in the first quarter was an 8-point Redhawk lead.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck (10-7) outscored the Redhawks (14-3) by a 9-2 margin in the extra period to end North Tama’s four-game winning streak.

Parker Bolt scored a game-high 20 points and had seven rebounds for the Rebels. Colby Luethje added 13 points and 10 rebounds, Logan Petersen tallied 12 points, and Jacob Smoldt added seven points, eight boards and three assists.

Brendon Boerm led North Tama with 19 points and Lucas Hefty added 14 in the loss.
