Hayek and Drey exchange vows

Sarah Elizabeth Hayek and Nicholas Ronald Drey were united in marriage on September 25, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi in West Des Moines. Rev. Edward Hurley presided over the 2:00pm wedding ceremony. A reception and dance followed at Foxboro Convention Center in Johnston.

Parents of the couple are John and Betty Hayek of Clutier and George and Lois Drey of Carroll. Honored guests were grandparents of the bride, George and Dorothy Hayek of Elberon and grandfather Clarence Frideres of Algona.

The bride chose her friend, Katrina Nystrom, as Matron of Honor. Her friends, Wendy White and Angie Pline, and the groom’s sister, Julie Testin stood up with the bride. Personal Attendants for the bride were friends Sarah Slattenow and Angie Pitts. The groom chose his brother, Dan Drey, as Best Man. His brothers, Paul Drey and Phil Drey, and the bride’s brother, Eric Hayek stood up with the groom. Ushers for the couple were Ben Herrig, Corey Lias, Jim Hersom, and Tony Ginger, all friends of the groom. The flower girl and ring bearer were Melina Testin and Jack Drey, niece and nephew of the groom.

The bride is a television producer at Screenscape Studios and the groom is the wellness director at Walnut Ridge Senior Community. Nick and Sarah honeymooned in St. Lucia and currently live in Urbandale.
