ISU Extension hires new Tama Co. Director
Tama County ISU Extension and Outreach announces the hiring of Kellie Carolan as the county’s Executive Director beginning on September 1, 2015. Kellie is a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science.
Kellie grew up on a purebred family beef farm and was actively involved with school and community activities such as 4-H, FFA, athletics and honor groups. Most recently, she has been working for the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association as a Seedstock Manager which involved planning annual events including various producer education programs, Governor’s Charity Steer Show (charity event) and ICA annual convention. Her rural background, extra-curricular activities and work experience has helped her develop strong communication and organizational skills that will serve her well in her new position.
Kellie will coordinate programming in agriculture and natural resources, human sciences, 4-H youth development and community & economic development, in cooperation with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach program specialists. She will also be responsible for marketing and public relations efforts, working and networking with community organizations and agencies and will report to the Tama County ISU Extension and Outreach Council.
