Tama BOS sign disaster declaration

A disaster declaration dated for August 10 was approved by the Tama County Board of Supervisors Monday.
The declaration allows the county to execute the expenditure of emergency funds from all available sources and invokes mutual aid agreements and the applying to the State of Iowa for assistance.
Region 6 – Housing Funding Request
A request from Region 6 housing was approved to contribute to Region 6 Housing Trust Fun. Tama County will provide $12,132 of cash assistance for fiscal year 2021/2022.
The fund can annually apply for approximately $259, 092 of Iowa Finance Authority State Housing Trust Funds if the trust fund secures $64,773 of local contributions and the per capita state share for Tama County is $48,528 if $12,132 of local assistance is secured and the housing trust fund continues to seek applications for owner occupied housing improvements across the region which will be prioritized based upon housing needs and all applicants must have annual incomes under 80% of the county median as determined by HUD
Six applications qualified in Tama County. Last spending they did in the county was in 2019 for a house that had caught fire.
