North Tama falls 3-1 to No. 4 Janesville on Senior Night
TRAER–The North Tama Redhawks celebrated Senior Night last week Thursday in a matchup with Class 1A fourth ranked Janesville.
Seniors that were honored included Outside Hitter Abby DeBoef, Middle Hitter Alexis Hansen, and Outside Hitter Dylan Rohlfsen. After each senior was announced in front of their home crowd, they came out on the court with their families and were met with hugs and gifts from their teammates.
The Redhawks came out hot against the Wildcats, capturing the opening set 25-21. But Janesville roared back to dominate the final three sets 25-16, 25-19, and 25-10.
DeBoef led her team with 14 kills. Kaitlyn Calderwood shifted to libero for the Thursday dual and led all players in digs with 26.
The loss moves the Redhawks to 5-7 overall with much of the Iowa Star South schedule yet to be played. The south side of the conference has
North Tama traveled to face No. 11 Gladbrook-Reinbeck in a cross-conference dual on Thursday and will compete in the Waterloo West Eileen Beninga Tournament on Saturday. Next week’s schedule will feature a dual with Iowa Star Conference rival GMG on Monday.
