Union coach named to Hall of Fame

The Iowa Girls Coaches Association honored inductees to the IGCA Coaches Hall of Fame at an event in Cedar Rapids earlier this month.

Union Knights head coach Robert Dricol was one of nine inductees to be honored with the 2020 class.

Since taking the helm in 1997, Driscol has compiled a record of 358-189, including two appearances in the state tournament. The Knights state runs under Driscol came in 2000 and 2001, finishing as semi-finalists each year.

Over the past 23 seasons, Driscol has also coached eight players that earned all-state honors during their high school careers.

Others named to the 2020 IGCA Coaches Hall of Fame were John Agans, Bruce Dall, Curt Klaahsen, BJ Mayer, Tom Petersen, Steve Sauvin, Tony Vis, and Roger Wright.
