Law enforcement in Tama County are seeking the public’s assistance in determining the whereabouts of a man involved in a vehicle pursuit through Tama County Sunday afternoon.

According to officials with the Tama County Sheriff’s Office, the man dumped his vehicle in Traer after avoiding arrest and initiating the pursuit.

The man was last seen possibly walking nearby the city pool in Traer.

Officials also said the man in question does not pose an imminent threat to the community.

Details of the attempted arrest and the vehicle pursuit, including the identity of the man, were not immediately available as the incident is ongoing.

The Meskwaki Nation Police Department was the initial agency involved with the incident. Multiple agencies including the Tama County Sheriff’s Office were also involved.
