Reward issued in Traer homicide case

Four months to the day since the murder of Ryan Cooper at a rural Traer residence, an area non-profit organization has put forward a reward.

On Tuesday, Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers announced a $17,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the Cooper case.

Cooper was found dead in his home seven miles southwest of Traer following a 911 call made at 4:35 a.m. the morning of June 18.

On June 19, the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner announced Cooper’s autopsy was complete with the pathologist ruling the cause of death to be homicide and the manner of death to be a gunshot wound.

According to state and local investigators, as of Oct. 18 there have been no arrests and no new information made available in the case.
