Pastor Muters welcomed by Zion’s children

New pastor soon to be installed in Dysart

With the help of some bold, colorful artwork, the children of Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart welcomed their newly called pastor, Rev. Matthew Muters, and his family during the Sunday, November 14 worship service. Prior to accepting the call at Zion, Rev. Muters was previously in tandem ministry at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church, both in Mason City, Iowa. Rev. Muters will be installed as Zion’s pastor on Sunday, December 19 by Rev. Kevin T. Jones, newly-elected Bishop of the Northeastern Iowa Synod. Rev. Muters and his family have made their home in Dysart in the church parsonage. The North Tama Telegraph will feature an interview with Rev. Muters in the December 23 edition. As part of his Nov. 14 sermon, Rev. Muters said he had been “blown away by the authenticity” of the people of Zion and looked forward to becoming part of the Dysart community.
