U.S. 63 from Iowa 96 to Traer set to close for resurfacing

Closure set to last May 23 through Fall 2022

An asphalt resurfacing project on U.S. 63 from the intersection of Iowa 96 to Traer will require closing U.S. 63 beginning Monday, May 23, at 7:00 a.m. through Fall 2022, weather permitting.

During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone. The detour route will use Tama County roads E-29 and V-18, and Iowa 8.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones.

As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
