Clutier Public Library Soup Day and Quilt Drawing

On Election Day, November 8, the Clutier Public Library will be holding its annual soup day and drawing for a quilt that has been made by local library supporters.

Materials for the quilt are purchased, put together, and donated to the library by Julia, Margaret, and Rita Babinat. The library receives donations for the quilt; the donors’ names are placed in a jar, and one name is drawn at the evening soup day meal. This year the quilt is done in colors of yellow and gray and shades of blue and purple. You do not have to be present to win. All proceeds go to the library. Those interested may see the quilt at the library during regular library hours or at the Legion Hall on Election / Soup Day up until the time of the drawing.

Tickets for the drawing are the same as last year – $50.00 for two tickets. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the library or at the Clutier Legion hall on soup day until the time of the drawing.

Soup Day is an annual event held on election day each year at the Clutier Legion Hall. Members of the library board and community volunteers get together on election day and serve beefburgers, a choice of chili or chicken noodle soup, and homemade desserts donated by some of our good Clutier bakers.

Proceeds from soup day and the quilt go directly to the library and have paid for many improvements, including some refurbishing of the building and updating library contents.
