Tony and Elsa Weida received a plaque from the Traer Historical Museum board during the October 6 meeting for the many years of distinguished service they have provided by helping with a multitude of projects.

Tony recently served as board president for many years. He came on the board in 2003 and remembers at the beginning the museum taking anything and everything to fill the large building. He has enjoyed seeing the museum grow from maintenance mode to remodeling and developing displays.

“I feel we have even more support when we are able to combine community financial donations and volunteerism with past residents showing continued interest in us which helps us acquire grant monies. That means we can do more than buy pencils,” Tony said.

With Elsa’s eye for display design, they make a great pair!
