Clutier Legion Auxiliary holds January sewing day

The Hora-Machacek Unit #453 held a sewing day on Thursday, Jan. 5. at 9 a.m. There were eight present who sewed carpet balls for the Iowa Veterans Home and also tied plastic bag strips together and rolled them into balls for use in making plastic mats for the homeless. Those present were Margaret and Julia Babinat, Collette Wiebbecke, Deb Kupka, Linda Dvorak, Pauline Sienknecht, Cyndi Butts, and Diane Caloud. Marilyn Svoboda was there for a short time to take down the Christmas decorations. Our President Veronica Pavlicek was not able to attend due to road conditions so no meeting was held. A nice potluck lunch was enjoyed by those present at noon and then we continued to work until about 2 p.m. The next sewing day and meeting will be on Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. with a potluck at noon and a meeting to follow.
