TOLEDO – The biggest issue discussed at last Monday’s Tama County Board of Supervisors meeting was the Zoning Commission. Carol Meyer from the Toledo area and Steven Peterson from the Chelsea area were both appointed to the commission during the supervisors’ meeting.

The supervisors had several applicants of both genders for the open board seat. They interviewed four that applied. The supervisors said they hired Meyer and Peterson because they were the “most qualified” of the applicants.

The three other Zoning Commission members are Doug Dvorak, Wade Mitchell, and Craig Sash. Carol Meyer will be the only female appointed to the Zoning board, leaving the board male dominant.

The supervisors approved the re-assignment of a Tax Sale Certificate for a Garwin building.

A liquor license for Dysart Recreation was approved.

The supervisors also approved a resolution making Tammy Wise the Title VI Non-Discrimination Program Coordinator for Tama County.
