The top law enforcement official in Tama County has endorsed Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in his candidacy to become the next president of the United States, according to a press release sent out last week Monday.

Tama County Sheriff Dennis Kucera was listed among the 26 Iowa sheriffs who have endorsed the governor in his bid for the White House so far.

“No one in the presidential race has stood up for law enforcement more than Governor DeSantis,” Hardin County Sheriff Dave McDaniel, one of the 26 sheriffs who endorsed DeSantis, said. “His track record of backing the blue in Florida, protecting local resources, and curbing illegal immigration is resonating.”
