Redhawk volleyball trio named to Iowa Star Conference All-South first team

TRAER – A trio of immensely talented North Tama student-athletes were selected to the 2023 Iowa Star Conference All-South Division first team including Kruiz Ewoldt, Addison Hochstetler, and Izzy Hallett.

Ewoldt, a sophomore outside hitter, led all South attackers with 3.7 kills per set. Hochstetler, North Tama’s libero, averaged 3.0 digs per set in her sophomore campaign, and Hallett, the Redhawks’ lone senior, averaged 2.1 assists, 1.7 kills, 2.2 digs and 1.5 aces as a multi-tool contributor to North Tama’s second-place finish in the division. The Redhawks ended the season with a 6-1 conference record just behind BCLUW’s 7-0 record.

Second-team honors went to North Tama sophomore setter Zoey Rausch and junior defensive specialist Kylie Calderwood, while sophomore Cayleigh Heller was an honorable mention selection for setter/rightside hitter.

Iowa high school all-state teams

The Iowa Girls Coaches Association announced on Monday the 2023 all-state volleyball team selections.

In Class 1A, Hochstetler was a second team pick.
