TRAER – The Taylor Park Military Memorial located in the southwest corner of Traer’s city park is looking to expand.

The city, with the help of Dahn Kennedy of the “Hometown Hearts” Project, is currently selling bricks to place around the memorial which was officially dedicated this past June.

The bricks – designed to honor those who have served or are currently serving in the military – cost $100 each. Brick inscriptions may consist of a maximum of three lines at 13 spaces per line.

Kennedy is taking orders now through April 15, 2024, when payment is due.

For more information or to obtain an order form, contact Kennedy at 319-269-2284. Forms and payment may be mailed to 607 Fifth Street, Traer, IA 50675, or dropped off at AWE Auto Service where Kennedy works.
