Bev C, our Girls State Coordinator, sent out letters to girls eligible for girls state but no one was interested. We currently have 49 paid members. Thank you to Jackie, Courtney, and Marilyn for putting up the Christmas tree and decorations. Thank you Marilyn for taking down the Christmas tree and decorations on January 2.

Read a thank you from the Clutier 1st Responders for our monetary donation. Received thank you from Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care for the 36 lap quilts we made for them. As they stated the quilts will be used to bring cheer and comfort to Veterans during their visit. Bob Kroymann came to thank us for the lap quilt he received from us, which was a project we did by giving each Hora-Machacek Legionnaire a quilt. He stated it’s a wonderful project and please continue making the quilts for veterans.

Sang a belated Happy Birthday to Mary S. whose special day was December 25. We will have a sewing day on February 6th beginning at 9 a.m. Our noon lunch will be soup, salad, and sandwiches. Currently two members are bringing soup. So bring salad or sandwiches or even a special soup you make. Monthly meeting after lunch about 1 p.m.
