Tama County SKIP to sponsor free family movie night in Traer March 13

Tama County SKIP (Supporting Kids in Prevention) is partnering with the local movie theaters in Traer, Gladbrook, and the Wieting Theatre to offer a FREE Family Movie Night for Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month.

We believe that protecting children is everyone’s business and want to create a world where all children grow up happy, healthy, and prepared to succeed.

This year it was felt that a way we could incorporate awareness and family togetherness is to offer a Free Family Movie Night. This will include the admission, popcorn and drink. This gives children and families who might not otherwise be able to afford to go to a movie the opportunity to spend time together at a family friendly event.

The first movie, Kung Fu Panda 4, will be at the Traer Theater, March 13 at 7 p.m. On April 4 this movie will be at the Gladbrook Theater at 7 p.m.

On April 25, the Wieting Theater will play Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire at 7 p.m.

SKIP is a Community Partnership for Protecting Children, ages 0 to 18 years of age. They focus on Shared Decision Making, Neighborhood Networking, Individualized Course of Action, and Policy and Practice Changes.
