Hora-Machacek holds May meeting

CLUTIER – Four ladies from the Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday, May 7, at the Clutier post home. The colors were already in place. President Veronica brought the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. She said prayer, called the roll, and read last month’s minutes which were approved as read.

Treasurer reviewed our finances and our unit’s impact report. Bev C, Jennie H, and Diane C. helped at Government Day on April 10 in Toledo. Julia B. had furnished the 4 dozen cookies for their lunch. Diane attended the IVH Bingo on April 17 and there was good IVH resident attendance.

On Tuesday, May 21, at 1 p.m. members please come to the hall to help clean and ready the crosses and trellises for Memorial weekend. Friday, May 24 at 1 p.m. members will be placing the trellises on deceased Auxiliary members’ graves at our local cemeteries. If weather may be an issue give Diane C. a call to see when may be doing. The Legion will place crosses on veterans’ graves Saturday the 25th beginning at 9 a.m. Auxiliary members come and assist the Legion. The Legion’s salute to our deceased veterans at local cemeteries will be on Monday, May 27 beginning at the Legion hall at 8:30 a.m., Clutier Cemetery at 8:45 a.m., Oneida Cemetery at 9 a.m., Holy Trinity Cemetery at 9:15 a.m., and St Vaclav Cemetery at 9:45 a.m.

Get well card was signed and sent to Collette W. Veronica won the door prize. Our June meeting will be on the 4th at 1:30 p.m. Pauline S. retired the colors. Veronica said the closing prayer. Veronica was hostess and served sandwiches and cookies.
