TRAER – The 2024 McKenna Reunion for the families of the late Charles and Clara McKenna was held on Sunday, Aug. 4, at Taylor Park in Traer. Thirty-four family members attended the potluck dinner. Our president this year, Charlie McKenna led a meeting after dinner. Stephanie Buchanan will be the president for the next reunion. Mike Schmitt took over as secretary-treasurer.

It was announced that Justine Pederson married William (Bill) Judd on September 16, 2023, daughter of James and Lovelle Pederson the granddaughter of the late Great Grandparents John and Martha McKenna.

It was announced that Bailey McKenna married Luke Olsen on June 1, 2024, in Moville, Iowa. Bailey is the daughter of David and Dee McKenna of Sioux City, Iowa, and the granddaughter of Dick and Colette McKenna of Vinton, Iowa. The Great-Great Grandparents are the late Robert and Patricia McKenna.

The announcement of births included Phillip and Jamie McKenna had a daughter, Elliana James McKenna born on March 3, 2023, Granddaughter of Dean and Monica McKenna, Great Granddaughter of the late Harold and Maxine Mckenna.

Colette announced the birth of twins Maranatha Abigal and Azariah Gibeon on January 25, 2024, to Catlin and Sean Butorac the daughter of Becky and Aaron Kruckenburg, Great Grandparents of Dick and Colette McKenna.

Mike Schmitt announced the birth of his nephew, Alex and Lindsey Schmitt had a son Thomas Mosley Schmitt born February 16, 2023, the son of Mark and Brenda Schmitt, Great Grandparents of Lois (McKenna) Schmitt and the late Ronald Schmitt.

Mike also announced the birth of Ryan and Jeanette Roush-Krafka’s daughter, Auroa Dorothy Roush-Krafka was born October 11, 2023, the Great Grandparents of Dan Krafka and the late Peggy (McKenna) Krafka. The Great- Great Grandparents are the late Robert and Patricia McKenna.

The family was saddened by the loss of Maxine Agnes (Beck) McKenna who passed away on June 11, 2023; she was wife to the late Harold Edward McKenna.

The next reunion will be held in August 2026 at Taylor Park in Traer, Iowa.
