Rainy Aug. 12 meeting for Tama County Board of Supervisors
TOLEDO – On a drizzly rainy Monday morning last week, the usual suspects started their week by gathering for the Tama County Board of Supervisors meeting.
After 15 minutes of absolute silence where no one had a public comment, the Tama County Engineer, Ben Daleske, kicked off the meeting with his report saying that Iowa Bridge and Culvert has finished work on P Avenue, and that it is now open.
Now, E Avenue is being worked on by Iowa Bridge and Culvert, which should hopefully be open next week, then it’s on to F Avenue. Debris has finished being cleared from Irving Bridge which accumulated from the big storm a few weeks back. The wooden deck on 275th is being replaced, and will hopefully be open next week.
The work on Highway 63 has progressed. 340th Street or Manatt’s Landing is currently being worked on and is impassable, but it should open up again soon. Paving Highway 63 is scheduled for later in the month and will start at the Poweshiek County line and proceed north.
The Emergency Action Plan was updated and approved by the supervisors.
Claims totaling $210,863.75 were approved.
