Hora-Machacek Auxiliary holds Sept. meeting

Sewing days to restart Oct. 1, pancake breakfast set for Oct. 20

CLUTIER – Seven members of the Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at the Clutier post home. The ladies were: Marilyn S, Mary S, Linda D, Pauline S, Collette W, Diane C, and Veronica P. President Veronica conducted the meeting. Mary said prayer and the vacant chair. Veronica called the roll and read August’s minutes which were approved as read.

Treasurer Diane reviewed our finances. Linda made a motion to pay Diane for two pies for IVH picnic and to Marilyn for sewing materials, seconded by Pauline. Diane reviewed our units obligations to Dept, 3rd district and county. She issued checks and Veronica will mail them with necessary paperwork.

Diane, county president, reviewed the 3rd district school of instruction she attended. She passed out member tracking forms to everyone so they track hours of sewing or dollars spent for the veterans each month. Explained the shortish of poppy makers at IVH and how a unit or individual can learn to make poppies.

October will arrive next month so we will begin our sewing days. First one being October 1 beginning at 9 a.m., potluck lunch at noon, and monthly meeting at about 1:30 p.m. You do not need to be an Auxiliary member to come and help and enjoy fellowship. On Sunday, October 20, will be the Legion’s pancake breakfast and Auxiliary bake sale.

Happy birthday was sung to Diane C. Door prize was won by Marilyn S. Mary S. said the closing prayer and Pauline S. retired the colors. Veronica served a pumpkin gingerbread icebox cake and members enjoyed fellowship.
