TRAER – National Friends of Libraries Week takes place Oct. 20-26 this year. As part of the 19th annual national celebration, the Traer Public Library is inviting anyone and everyone to become a Friend! All that is required is a love of the library and a willingness to support it.

Friends of the Traer Public Library group was formed in 2004, but has not met for several years. The group will be getting together on Wednesday, Oct. 23, beginning at 5 p.m. at the library. Organizers plan to brainstorm ideas for future programs and gather a list of people who would be willing to volunteer at the library (help with a program, help decorate, make cookies, etc).

There is no cost to become a Friend but for those who would like to support the library financially, donations to the Traer Public Library Foundation are always welcome. A $100 donation includes the prestigious distinction of being a Lifetime Friend of the Traer Public Library!
