Annual bake sale, pancake breakfast brings out a crowd in Clutier
CLUTIER – The Clutier American Legion Hora-Machacek Post 453 in cooperation with members of the Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary held their annual fall pancake breakfast and bake sale at the post home in Clutier last Sunday morning with the parking lot packed and the breakfast line stretching onto the front lawn just a few minutes after the 8 a.m. start. Inside, the Auxiliary’s bake sale table located in the back of the hall was also overflowing with a scrumptious selection of homemade goodies including rohlicky, angel food cake, tea rings, cookies, crisps, dried noodles, and more. The annual fundraiser was deemed a success by Auxiliary Treasurer Diane Caloud who told the newspaper the baked goods sold out fast. Auxiliary members pictured just after 8 a.m. beside the bakery table include Diane Caloud in the front; middle row (l-r), Pauline Sienknecht, Veronica Pavlicek, and Mary Seda; and in the back row, Bev Colvin and Collette Wiebbecke.
